Our Mission
Our mission at NewBridge School is to equip students who have language-based learning disabilities with the tools and confidence to become successful, life-long learners. We are committed to providing a dynamic, multi-sensory educational experience that addresses the individual needs of each student in an environment where they feel safe and emotionally secure.
Founded in 1996, NewBridge School is the premier K-8 program in San Diego for individuals with learning differences. Our students are bright, inquisitive and motivated learners who perform best in a nurturing environment combined with highly qualified teachers, assistive technology and systematic/explicit instructional practices. Our small class size (8:1) and research-based methods allow us to be highly successful in meeting each child’s specific needs, while building upon their individual strengths and instilling confidence in their ability to learn.
NewBridge School is a transitional program. We are dedicated to preparing students to gain the necessary skills to integrate into highly academic private and public schools. We have students at Cathedral Catholic High School, Horizon Prep and various charter and public schools, such as High Tech High. From these high schools, they have gone on to UC Berkley, Northeastern, the University of San Francisco, Washington and Jefferson, Point Loma Nazarene etc. They have become nurses, chefs, entrepreneurs, fire fighters, autism specialists and more.
