We are excited to announce that we are once again holding a Jog-A-Thon for all NewBridge/Koonings Center students! This year’s Jog-A-Thon will be Tuesday, April 24th. This event is going to serve two purposes: 1) It will give all the students an opportunity to get out and have fun while walking, jogging or running with their classmates, and 2) It will help raise money to rebuild our Game Room.
The NewBridge 1/Koonings 1 students will walk, jog or run continuously for 20 minutes at 9:50 am, NewBridge 2/Koonings 2 students will run for 30 minutes at 10:50am, and NewBridge 3/Koonings 3 will run for 30 minutes at 11:50am. There will be prizes for the Top 3 Lap Runners for each group. The class in each group with the most money earned will have a pizza party! Everyone will be recognized for participating. We invite all of you to come out and cheer your runners on or to join in the fun and run with them!
Participation by every student in jogging, walking or running the day of the event is required. Participating in the fundraising is optional and it is easy! This Friday, March 23rd, your child’s teacher will be sending home a Sponsor Sheet and Pledge Envelope (Sheets are also attached below). This envelope will include step-by-step instructions, including “how to ask for pledges.” Basically, a student will ask friends/family to sponsor them for the Jog-A-Thon. They can sponsor “Per Lap” or “Lump Sum.” After the event, the student will contact their sponsors to let them know how many laps they completed and how much the sponsor pledged. The donations will go into the envelope provided and be turned in to the student’s teacher by Friday, May 4th.
We really hope you will help your child participate in the fundraising part of this event.
How can you help? Firstly, please send your child to school on Tuesday, April 24th with proper running shoes and maybe a hat if that is what he/she is used to. Secondly, we can use all the help we can get to make this Jog-A-Thon a success! If you can help in any of the ways listed below, please email Ms. Andrea to sign up.
Volunteer your Time (for any or all of the event):
